Built for New Zealand tradies

Never lose a job to a missed call.

And never quote one that needs a licence you don't have. ProfitLeak texts back every missed call the moment it happens, and checks the job against real New Zealand compliance rules before you send the quote.

Works alongside Tradify and ServiceM8 — you don't have to switch job-management tools.

The call you miss is the job you lose

You're under a house, up a ladder, or driving between jobs.

The phone rings out. There's no one free to answer it.

Most people who get no answer don't leave a voicemail.

They hang up and call the next number on the list.

Every missed call is a job someone else is about to quote.

Not because they're better — just because they picked up.

New Zealand is short on tradies.

The ones still working are busier than ever, and can't justify hiring someone just to answer the phone.

How it works

Four steps, no admin staff required.

1

Call missed

The phone rings out while you're on the tools and can't get to it.

2

Caller texted instantly

From your own business number, asking what they need and when.

3

Enquiry lands in your inbox

Alongside anything that comes through your website, in one place.

4

Job checked against NZ rules

Before you ever send a quote, so nothing catches you out later.

The compliance difference

Every job you tag gets checked against four real New Zealand rules. If something's missing, you'll know before you quote — not after.

Written contract required

Building Act Part 4A: residential building work priced at $30,000 or more (including GST) needs a written contract and disclosure to the homeowner.

Restricted Building Work

Work essential to a building's structure or weathertightness has to be done or supervised by a Licensed Building Practitioner.

Licensed gasfitter required

Gasfitting has to be carried out by someone certified with the Plumbers, Gasfitters and Drainlayers Board.

Licensed electrician required

Electrical work has to be done by someone registered with the Electrical Workers Registration Board.

This is a prompt to help you stay on the right side of the rules. It's not legal advice.

Works alongside Tradify and ServiceM8

ProfitLeak isn't another job-management system to learn. It sits next to the one you've already got, catching what falls through the gap when the phone doesn't get answered.

About us

Two founders building ProfitLeak for the trades, not for Silicon Valley.

Morne Nieuwenhuizen

I built ProfitLeak out of frustration — the kind you only feel when you're watching money walk out the door and no one else seems to notice.

Working as a Business Development Manager, I sat across the table from tradies — plumbers, electricians, builders, landscapers — right here in Hawke's Bay and beyond. I watched hardworking business owners pour everything into their trade, only to lose jobs before they'd even started. Not because their work wasn't good enough. Not because their prices were wrong. Simply because the phone rang while they were up a ladder or under a house, and nobody could call back in time.

That missed call became a missed job. And that missed job became a missed customer — one who'd already rung the next name on the list.

I saw it happen over and over, in workshop after workshop, ute after ute. It wasn't a one-off problem — it was an industry-wide leak, quietly draining profit out of businesses that had no idea it was even happening.

With a background spanning sales, software development, and customer experience, I had a vantage point most people in this space don't: I understood the sales pipeline tradies were losing, the technology that could plug the gap, and the customer experience needed to win the job back before it slipped away. So I decided to build the fix myself — a system that instantly responds to missed calls, keeps leads moving through a proper pipeline, and makes sure no tradie ever loses work simply because they were too busy doing the job in front of them.

That idea became ProfitLeak — built here in Hawke's Bay, for the tradies who keep this country running.

My mission is simple: stop the leaks, keep the profit, and give tradies back the jobs they've already earned.
